The Sudbury Construction Association was formed in 1948 in response to the Carpenters forming Local 2486 in Sudbury. It was started by Charles Carrington who became the first President and the association was located in Carrington Construction until 1954. The SCA moved to 257 Beatty street and has been their since with a few additions and renovations. The building also is home for the Electrical and Mechanical contractors associations. Many staff and volunteers of the SCA have been leaders on a variety of provincial committees and associations over the years working to improve working conditions for northern contractors.
